A prestigious award for a cultural and artistic initiative

La Petite Ecole Ho Chi Minh City is extremely proud to have received the Palme de l’Action Culturelle at the first edition of the Palmes de l’EFE, a competition recognizing innovative educational initiatives within the network of French schools abroad. This award, presented during an official ceremony at La Sorbonne in Paris, acknowledges the project “Art et Francophonie: éveil culturel”, which allowed our kindergarten students to explore the works of major Francophone artists and develop their creativity through a variety of artistic techniques.

An artistic project at the heart of the "Semaine des Lycées Français du Monde"

As part of the Semaine des Lycées Français du Monde 2024, under the theme “Francophonie: Schools Create and Innovate”, La Petite Ecole Ho Chi Minh City launched an ambitious educational project, using art as a tool for cultural and linguistic discovery.

Each kindergarten class studied a renowned Francophone artist and experimented with their artistic techniques:

  • Claude Monet: Impressionist painting and light effects
  • Henri Rousseau: Naïve painting and dreamlike representations of nature
  • Georges Seurat: Introduction to pointillism through self-portraits
  • Hervé Tullet: Interactive art and collaborative creation
  • Levalet: Street art and collage techniques
  • Marc Pouyet: Exploration of land art and creating with natural elements
  • Niki de Saint Phalle: Sculpture and working with volume
  • Éric Bourdon: Playful and colorful sculpting techniques

The goal was to enable students to explore a wide range of artistic practices while fostering their sensitivity and creative expression.

An exhibition and a cultural celebration

The project concluded with an exhibition within the school, where each class presented their works to families and fellow students. This event allowed children to proudly share their creations in a warm and engaging setting while discovering the artistic diversity of the Francophone world. Additionally, a culinary workshop was organized, giving students the opportunity to prepare traditional French specialties themselves, further deepening their cultural immersion.

An honor for our educational commitment

Receiving the Palme de l’Action Culturelle is a true acknowledgment of our commitment to enriching education through art and culture from an early age. This project reflects La Petite Ecole Ho Chi Minh City’s dedication to integrating innovative approaches into its curriculum, promoting active and immersive learning experiences.

This distinction also highlights the exceptional work of our teaching team, who support students every day in their learning and personal growth.
