BILINGUAL EARLY YEARS SCHOOL IN HO CHI MINH CITY

Loving to learn and live together

BILINGUAL EARLY YEARS SCHOOL

Located in the Thao Dien district of Ho-Chi-Minh City, our nursery school welcomes pupils between the ages of 3 (Petite Section) and 6 (Grande Section), at a time when their progress and development are particularly significant.

GROWING UP TOGETHER FROM 3 TO 6 YEARS OLD IN AN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

For many young pupils, Early Years school is the first opportunity to join a larger group of children and experience new things.

We have chosen to offer a multilingual program from the beginning of Early Years school, as young children are in the best aptitude to learn languages quickly. The days are spent alternately in French and English, with one hour of introductory Vietnamese per week. Our Early Years pupils are thus placed in a stimulating international environment where the teachers offer them personalised support.

Find out more about personalised support in our dedicated article: What is child-centred teaching and why is it important?

Our classes by age are as follows:

  • Petite Section (PS) 3-4 years: Autonomy, social rules and living together
  • Moyenne Section (MS) 4-5 years: Towards reading and writing
  • Grande Section (GS) 5-6 years: Focus on language

WHY CHOOSING OUR EARLY YEARS SCHOOL

01

Personalized Care

We prioritise the specific development needs of young children, paying particular attention to their well-being and self-confidence.

02

Learning Foundations

Our educational programme lays the foundations for preparing for the demands of future learning (understanding, expressing thought, exploring the world, etc.).

03

Playful and reflective learning

We give priority to learning through action and games, which encourage children to memorise and motivate them.

04

Multilingual and multicultural environment

Thanks to alternating days in French and English, enriched by 1 hour of Vietnamese per week, we offer daily immersion in an international environment.

05

Development through Art and Sport

Children take part in physical and artistic activities on a daily basis to encourage the harmonious development of action, sensations, imagination, sensitivity, thought and language.

06

Holistic Education

Our holistic approach translates into a variety of activities – educational outings, group projects, emotional development and a bilingual environment – that encourage each child to explore their talents, work as part of a team and grow with confidence and an open mind.

DAILY LIFE AT LA PETITE ECOLE HO CHI MINH CITY

A typical day:

The timetable is designed to take into account the child’s chronobiology, as his or her attention span varies according to the time of day. Pupils are welcomed from 8am. The day is punctuated by a 30-minute outdoor break in the morning, a lunch break and then a nap (up to Grande Section).

A typical week:

The week is organised alternately with a French-speaking teacher and an English-speaking teacher.

The children alternate teachers and language on a daily basis. If they start their week on Monday with the French-speaking teacher, they will then go on Tuesday with the English-speaking teacher until they are 5 years old. From Grande Section onwards, they alternate on a half-day basis.

  • Tuesday: 8.30am – 3.15pm
  • Wednesday: 8.30am – 3.15pm
